Avast Account – FAQs

An Avast Account is a portal for managing your paid Avast subscriptions. On your Avast Account you can find information about:

  • Subscriptions: Find tools and information to help you manage your Avast subscriptions. Options include download links for all of your purchased products, valid activation codes, and the number of devices where you are currently using the subscription.
  • Billing: Check the next billing date for each subscription, change your payment card details, and unsubscribe directly via your Avast Account if you do not want to be charged again for a subscription.
  • Order history: Review your complete Avast order history. Options include requesting a refund, finding your Order ID number, and retrieving an order invoice.

Is an Avast Account created automatically for me when I purchase an Avast product?

No. An Avast Account is not automatically created when you purchase an Avast subscription. You can create an Avast Account manually with an email address that is not already linked to a different Avast Account. Any Avast subscriptions previously purchased using this email address automatically appear in your account.

How can I create an Avast Account?

To create a new Avast Account, click the button below:

To ensure that a previously purchased Avast subscription appears automatically in your new Avast Account, register the Avast Account with the same email address that you provided at checkout. Optionally, you can use your Google, Apple, or Facebook account to sign in to your Avast Account if it is the same the email address that you used for the purchase.

For detailed instructions on how to create an Avast Account, refer to the following article:

What if I don’t know the password or email address for my Avast Account?

I don’t know my password

You can reset your password using the recover password page.

For detailed instructions, refer to the following article:

I don’t know my email address

We recommend checking if an email address is already in the Avast Account database:

  1. Go to the recover password page.
  2. Enter the email address that you think may be correct, and click Continue.

If you see the message An account with this email doesn’t exist – yet, the email address is not registered. You can create a new Avast Account with this email address or try entering a different email address.

How can I add another email address to my Avast Account?

If you purchased a subscription using another email address, you can link that email to your Avast Account to have all your subscriptions under one account. To manually link a subscription to your Avast Account:

  1. Sign in to your Avast Account using the link below:
  2. Click Go to account settings on the Account settings tile.
  3. Scroll to the Email management section and click + Add another email.
  4. Enter the new email address and your current Avast Account password, then click Add.

An Avast subscription cannot appear in more than one Avast Account simultaneously. If you have two Avast Accounts with active subscriptions that you would like to have under one Avast Account, you can delete one account and add the associated email address to the other account.

Troubleshooting

What if a subscription does not appear in my Avast Account?

When you purchase an Avast subscription via the official Avast website, the subscription automatically appears in your Avast Account if the email address that you provide at checkout is linked to your Avast Account. You can check which email addresses are currently linked to your Avast Account via Account settingsEmail management.

If you provided a different email address at checkout, you can manually add the missing subscription to your Avast Account. For instructions, refer to the following article:

  • Avast subscriptions purchased via Google Play Store or the App Store

Why do I see the error message ‘Authorization Error 400: admin_policy_enforced’?

This error message appears when you try to sign in to your Avast Account using the Continue with Google option while you are signed in to a corporate Google Account managed via Google Apps Device Policy. To resolve this issue, try one of the options below:

  • Return to the Avast Account sign in page. Rather than using the Continue with Google option, manually enter your Avast Account credentials, then click Continue.
  • Return to the Avast Account sign in page and select Continue with Google. From the list of Google Accounts that appears, select a non-corporate Google Account (for example, your personal Google Account). If prompted, enter your Google Account credentials.

You are now signed in to your Avast Account.

To sign in to your Avast Account via Continue with Google, you must choose a Google Account with an email address that is linked to your Avast Account. However, it does not need to be the Primary email address for your Avast Account.

Why is my Avast Account locked?

Every time you sign in to your Avast Account, we automatically scan known data breaches to ensure that your password is safe. If we find that the password you use to access your Avast Account was leaked online in another service’s data breach, we immediately lock the account. To unlock your Avast Account, you need to reset your password.

For detailed instructions, refer to the following article:

Why didn’t I receive the password reset email?

The password reset email, sent from the Avast email address [email protected], may be marked as spam and moved to your spam folder.

How can I turn off 2-step verification?

Logging me out of websites constantly

Hi there, I recently bought the pc utility and security tools with avast and laplink software bundle from Humble Bundle, and have installed and activated all of the Avast programs and subscriptions that came with it, which is great as hopefully it should be keeping my computer safe.

I was originally just using Avast One, and working off of that, but I have always like having a cleaning tool at the very least on my computer.

The issue I’m having is that one of the programs is logging me out of some websites, and I’m pretty sure its Avast as this has only been happening since yesterday when I installed them all, and its happening on multiple websites. I’ve tried flicking through to see if I can figure out what is causing it, but I’m really unsure what it could be, or even how to pinpoint the issue without just turning random settings on and off.

Does anyone have any ideas?
