LOL is the short form for the game League of Legends. It is an online battle arena video game for multiple players. It is a free-to-play game, but you have to purchase the character customization. It is highly compatible with Windows and macOS, accessible, has great character designs and production value. It also has exciting gameplay and character stories. Here are some methods you can use to find someone’s IP address on LOL.

1) The Netstat Comand
Step 1: First, you need to add the person you want to track as your game friend. Invite him or her to join the game.
Step 2: When you are in the game, quickly launch “Command Prompt”. Click WIN + R and type CMD on the command prompt dialog.
Step 3: On the command prompt dialog box, type “netstat-an”. This is a network connection view command that detects the IP of other devices that are currently connected to your computer.
Step 4: You can check the PID (Person Identification Number) of LOL in the task manager. Check the IP addresses connected to it.
Step 5: A lot of IP addresses will be displayed, and you will need to check them one by one as the player’s ID is not normally shown directly. Return to your active game.
2) Cain and Abel View
Step 1: Download and install the Cain and Abel view software; it will take a few minutes. You will need to disable the firewall and other restrictions that may hinder its installation.
Step 2: Open the software, click on the sniffer tab. You will see the IP address part, Mac Address, OUI fingerprint, and hostname.
Step 3: Click on the “start or stop sniffer” icon and leave all the boxes unchecked on the dialog that comes up and click OK. It will scan for everything, and you will see all devices connected to your network. This includes all the devices you are actively using on your network.
Step 4: Click on APR and click on the blue cross icon on the top menu bar. Click on the specific device on which your LOL game is on. On the dialog box, it will show all the devices connected. Click it and confirm using OK. Click on the yellow icon on the menu bar above to see all the game servers.
Step 5: You will be able to see all the people in your game lobby. They are the players in your game, and it always shows full routing or half routing. The person with the most packets is the host of the game lobby.
Step 6: You can pick any IP address and try to track it.
3) Wireshark
Wireshark is software that you can use to find the IP address of your target player in League of Legends. It analyses traffic between hosts on a network easily. You can use it to pull IP addresses on LOL to know who you are playing with.
Step 1: Download and install the Wireshark software. Choose the suitable one according to your system. The installation process will take a few minutes. To use it, ensure Wireshark is running on another window.
Step 2: The next screen will provide an IP logger link for collecting and viewing statistics. Click and copy the “viewing statistics” link.
Step 3: Open the LOL game, and wait for your target player to join the game. It will then display the IP address and location of the other player.
Step 4: Open the Wireshark website. On the search bar at the top, enter the IP address, and press enter to get the results.
Step 5: Once you get the IP address, you can use other tools to check the specific location of the other LOL player.
4) Use a Short Link
You can use links to capture the other party’s IP address. Hence, you can make a short link and send it through the chatbox to the other player in LOL. When the link is clicked, you can identify the IP address and location of the other person through the clicked link. However, if someone is using a VPN, it can be hard to find their real location.
Step 1: Create a disguisable link like Google Drive or Dropbox. However, don’t use your official account, instead create a new one for this purpose. Upload any non-sensitive file and create a shareable link through that. You can also use a video link or any other media link.
Step 2: Navigate to the IP logger website and paste the shareable link into the “URL and image shortener field”. Then, get the IP logger code.
Step 3: The next window will provide an IP logger link to use for collecting statistics and viewing statistics. Copy the viewing statistics link that you will use to track the IP address and location.
Step 4: Use a shortening service to change the URL. You can use Bitly to create a URL. You must first create an account, paste the link there, and it will change automatically.
Step 5: Open your game, wait for the other player to come in, and paste the link in the chatbox. When the opponent clicks, you will access their IP address.
Location just by IP address
After you have gotten the specific IP address using the above methods, you can use the open tracker online tool to get more details. It provides the specific IP address, city, country name, life expectancy, average income, time zone, subcontinent, county code, geo-targeting, Internet service provider, and much more. Hence, you can get more information about the specific location of the person.
No illegal Operation
All these methods are good to ensure that you track the IP addresses. However, be cautious and don’t use them for any illegal operations. An IP address allows you to get the location of a person, and hence, you can easily use that for illegal purposes. When tracking someone’s IP In a game, don’t do it with illegal intent. Only track your opponent’s IP address if you are suspicious of something. However, it is not such a great practice.

Riot Games Servers [ ]
To help solve the problems of high latency caused by long distances and to avoid language barrier issues, Riot Games hosts multiple servers around the world.
There is a single server that are not run by Riot. The Chinese servers are run by Tencent, Riot’s parent company.

Garena Southeast Asia [ ]
Main Article: Garena
Garena is a consumer Internet platform provider based in Asia that used to handle League of Legends (ergo Teamfight Tactics PC) publishing in the region.
Each server had its own headquarters and its own pricing for champions, skins, bundles etc. Previously, server transfer was not available to and from this region.
- Indonesian (ID) server had had shut down on May 16th, 2019, 12:01am WIB (GMT +7) [7] , with the player base to be transferred to the Singapore and Malaysia (SG) server. After the server closure, players could still transfer their accounts. However, only those who have transferred their accounts before the server closure would receive rewards.
- In January 2023, Riot Games ended its contract with Garena. The publishing rights for both League of Legends and Teamfight Tactics in the region have been transferred back to the former. Riot Games partnered with VNG and Taiwan Mobile for the Vietnamese and Taiwan/Hong Kong/Macao regions respectively due to certain laws [8] .
Tencent China server [ ]
The People’s Republic of China (CN) established servers since 2011 by Tencent Game; totaling 29 servers, with 19 hosted by China Telecom and 7 hosted by China Unicom. Players can join servers hosted by a different Internet Service Provider but will encounter more network problems such as higher lag. Each of these servers houses up to 650,000 players, but some are dedicated to different skill levels. Languages include Mandarin Chinese and Simplified Mandarin Chinese.

This server is meant for players using CERNET, which is used by some universities in China. Player (Mostly university students) will have a lower latency than other server while using CERNET
3. 峡谷之巅 (Super Zone) [literally translated as “Summit of the Valley/Rift”]
This server is meant to scout potential players for LDL and LPL. [9] Entry requires Solo/Duo Diamond I and above in another server, accounts are raised to level 30, awarded Blue Essence for the required champion pool for ranked. Settlement date is the last day of the calendar month, new players will start counting the next month. On the settlement date, a player is removed if their recorded monthly games do not total at least 24 (18 games in July), if they are the lowest ranked player, or no player is at least Diamond I.

Transferring to another server [ ]
When creating a game account, the player must choose a server to use, which is usually the server to which their country belongs. Once created, the account belongs solely to the server in which was created, with the login credentials being invalid for other servers.
In order to play with the same account in another server, a transfer can be purchased in the Riot Store.
Generally, transfers to other servers hosted by Riot will cost 2600 . RU, TR, BR, LAN and LAS servers do not have transfers to some other servers. Some servers do not have transferability: KR game accounts require national ID credentials, while CN is hosted by a third-party company.
Until March 1, 2023, transfers to the new Southeast Asian (SEA) servers — PH2, SG2, TW2, TH2, and VN2 — will only cost 1 . After which the transfer cost will revert back to its original price. Transfers, however, from the mentioned servers are temporarily disabled to give the new servers’ population time to stabilize. [10]
As of September 21, 2023, transfers from the SEA servers have now been enabled. Transfer availability in certain regions, however, may vary.
