I think it’s pretty reasonably priced too, and you can use it for $11.99 a month.

VPN Master and Betternet VPN can be trusted?

I was using those two VPN on my Iphone to see a Youtube video which was restricted for my country. I accessed my youtube app, which was alread logged in mith my account when I turned the VPN on (I tried to see the video once with each VPN, and it took an hour or so, because I tested it so many times). Using the VPN’s didn’t work out in in end. Regardless, what concerns me the most is the possibility of having my personal information snooped. Is my youtube account password encrypted? With those 2 VPN there is a high possibility of being hacked? Is VPN snooping happening so often around the internet?

BetterNet VPN Review [For Reddit]

I’ve been considering using a VPN for ages and finally decided to get one when me and my girlfriend were having a movie night. I wanted a cheap VPN so we went for a totally free one – BetterVPN. Anyone heard of this? I wish we hadn’t bothered! (yep – idiot)

It’s slow, it’s unsafe and we could barely even do any streaming!

To my defence, I’ve never used a VPN before. There are 2 reasons I’m writing this BetterNet VPN review:

  1. I want to make sure other Reddit users don’t fall foul of it
  2. I want people to recommend me a better VPN in the comments

Here are a few things you need to know about BetterNet VPN:

It’s SLOW. Lol. My internet connection was 30mbps when I connected to a BetterNet server in Australia but I was getting just 5mbps download speed back. No where near good enough and it totally ruined my media streaming.

Customer support was terrible too. We tried to contact them on the night we were using it but they don’t have 24/7 support. All we could use was a stupid FAQ and an email ticketing system.

In terms of countries covered, BetterNet servers are only available in a handful of countries (less than 10 I think).

Also, the whole thing is pretty damn mysterious. Are the servers P2P compatible?? No one really knows for sure. It’s the same with their proper servers count. I still don’t know the answer to this question.

Then there are sponsored ads which really peed me off.

I’m also not convinced that it’s safe. There’s no mention of their supposed 256-bit encryption in their privacy policy and BetterNet VPN is based in Canada – I wouldn’t trust this country with my data as far as I could throw it.

On the other hand, BetterNet DOES let you watch U.S. Netflix. To watch U.S. Netflix, you have to use the normal browser, otherwise you’ll get an error message.

I think it’s pretty reasonably priced too, and you can use it for $11.99 a month.

Overall, though, I’d say BetterVPN sucks d*** and I’d like some recommendations?
