Top 9 REALLY Free VPNs for Europe in 2023
Most free servers limit your bandwidth, speed, and data, too.
5 Best VPNs for Europe in 2023 for Privacy, Streaming & Speed
Your online safety isn’t guaranteed when in Europe. Money-motivated cybercrime is increasing, and many countries are part of the citizen-monitoring 5/9/14 Eyes Alliance (including France, Spain, and Italy). Plus, many websites, streaming platforms, and apps use geoblocks to restrict foreign users. This means your location limits the content you’re able to access. Luckily, a VPN can help.
My team and I tested over 90 VPNs to find the best ones for Europe. All services on this list have robust security features to protect you from hackers and tracking. On top of that, they have servers in Europe and worldwide to bypass global geoblocks.
ExpressVPN is my top choice for the region. It offers military-grade encryption to safeguard your data, and a high-speed global network to watch international content buffer-free. Plus, you get to try ExpressVPN with confidence, as it has a 30-day money-back guarantee.
Short on Time? Here Are the Best VPNs for Europe in 2023
- ExpressVPN — The best VPN for Europe with military-grade security features and thousands of fast servers to safely access global content. You can try it risk-free as it comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee.

- Private Internet Access — Customizable settings for personalized security configuration, but not the most beginner-friendly apps.
- IPVanish — Unlimited simultaneous connections to protect all your devices in Europe, but doesn’t unblock all streaming platforms.
- PrivateVPN — Intuitive interface ideal for new VPN users, but a smaller server network.

ExpressVPN Offer September 2023: For a limited time only, you can get an ExpressVPN subscription for up to 49% off ! Don’t miss out!
ExpressVPN stands out as the best VPN when it comes to online security. It’s based in the British Virgin Islands (outside the intelligence-sharing 5/9/14 Eyes Alliance) and maintains a strict no-logs policy. This means it doesn’t collect or share your data with anyone. Plus, the VPN uses RAM-only servers (TrustedServer technology) that erase your data on each server reboot. So, the provider doesn’t have any of your info to share (even if a European government requests it).
During my ExpressVPN tests, I didn’t detect any DNS or IP data leaks. The obfuscation technology disguises your VPN traffic as regular traffic for extra privacy (great for Netflix). I also found Network Lock (a kill switch) enabled by default. If the VPN suddenly gets disconnected, it cuts your internet session to prevent accidental data exposure.
Your traffic is safeguarded with military-grade encryption (AES 256-bit — the same standard used by the NSA). The VPN uses top-tier tunneling protocols, like mobile-friendly IKEv2, super-fast Lightway, and secure OpenVPN. There’s also perfect forward secrecy technology that changes your encryption keys each session. This means no one can decipher your information even if they steal one key.
Watching your favorite content is effortless too, with the vast network in 94 countries. I could easily watch Cobra Kai on my Netflix US account when I was in Europe. The VPN also has servers throughout Europe, including France, Germany, Italy, and Spain. So, you can watch ARD, ORF, and other popular streaming services just as easily.
Speeds were lightning-fast throughout my tests. My connection clocked at 90 Mbps on the nearby German servers — only 25 Mbps is needed to view UHD content without buffering. I had no noticeable speed drops while on faraway on the US servers in Chicago and New York either. P2P traffic is supported and you get unlimited bandwidth for fast and unrestricted torrenting.
The VPN also has beginner-friendly apps for popular operating systems, and supports multiple languages (including French, Italian, German, and Russian). You can even install it on your router (with custom firmware), so all devices on your network are protected. If you need any help, the website is full of FAQs, tutorials, and guides. Moreover, it offers 24/7 live chat to answer any questions.
Plans start from $6.67/month, which is a bit pricier than other VPNs. However, you can make it more affordable by using ExpressVPN’s regular discounts and special offers. I got 49% off and 3 months of service for free when I signed up for the 12-month plan. In addition, you can pay for your subscription with Bitcoin for extra privacy.
I tested ExpressVPN’s 30-day money-back policy and found it effortless. If you’re not satisfied with the VPN, simply contact support via live chat to request a refund. My conversation with the agent took only a few minutes, and my bank account was refunded within 2 days.

- Simultaneous device connections: 7
- Can stream local and global content: Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+, BBC iPlayer, Peacock, BT Sport, ESPN, and HBO Max

September 2023 Deal: CyberGhost is currently offering 83% off its most popular plan! Take advantage of this offer now and save more on your CyberGhost subscription.
It has excellent speeds too. My average connection on the fastest nearby server was 80 Mbps. Even the distant servers in the US and Australia allowed me to watch 4K videos without slowdowns. You can also download and share files without restrictions, thanks to uncapped bandwidth and P2P traffic support.
This VPN protects your sensitive data with robust encryption (AES 256-bit) and tunneling protocols (namely L2TP-IPsec and OpenVPN). Plus, its HTTPS protection automatically redirects you to secure versions of web pages. “Block content” helps prevent troublesome trackers, ads, and pop-ups on websites. I also like the WiFi protection feature that launches the VPN on public networks for additional protection against hackers.
You can be sure CyberGhost won’t collect or share your personal information with third parties. It maintains a strict no-logs policy and is headquartered in privacy-friendly Romania. On top of that, its IPv6/DNS leak protection and kill switch keep your identity and location private. Privately-managed NoSpy servers are included with some plans for extra privacy.
I found CyberGhost super easy to use — there are multiple European language options (including French and Spanish). You can master its features in no time using the extensive knowledge base on the official website. This VPN also offers a 24/7 online chat for troubleshooting and consultations.
Although short-term plans are a bit expensive, long-term subscriptions are fairly cheap. You can get CyberGhost’s longest plan for just $2.19/month. Overall, the 3-year plan offers the best value.
It’s also possible to try CyberGhost for free with the 45-day money-back guarantee. Canceling the subscription is straightforward. I requested a refund via email, and the money was back in my PayPal account 3 days later.
3. Private Internet Access — Customizable Security Settings to Tailor Your VPN Protection in Europe
Available on:
Windows Mac Android iOS
Chrome Router Smart TV More
Try Private Internet Access >
www.PrivateInternetAccess.com
- Server speed and location: Great speeds on 29,650 servers in 84 countries, including servers in Europe
- Security and privacy: Customizable encryption, ad blocker, and IP/DNS leak protection
- Simultaneous device connections: Unlimited
- Can stream local and global content: Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+, BBC iPlayer, Peacock, BT Sport, ESPN, and HBO Max
- Compatible with: Windows, Android, iOS, Mac, Chrome, Firefox, Linux, routers, and more
September 2023 Update: PIA doesn’t usually have deals or discounts (it’s already so affordable), but right now you can get a new subscription for a crazy 83% off !
A trustworthy zero-logs policy prevents the VPN from sharing your confidential information. It also comes with an automatic kill switch to reduce the chances of data exposure if you lose a connection. You can even enable the MACE feature to block annoying trackers and ads (like CyberGhost).
PIA’s servers in 84 countries give you access to content worldwide. I unblocked The Flight Attendant on my HBO Max account from Germany. Also, you can unblock local streaming services like ORF or Netflix UK when traveling.
Seeing the network has plenty of servers, there’s little chance of congestion. I got a stable 67 Mbps when connected to the closest server. It also doesn’t limit your bandwidth and supports P2P sharing for reliable torrenting.
The apps may not seem particularly user-friendly due to the various customization options. However, the Windows and Mac versions have pre-configured profiles for streaming, torrenting, and gaming. The VPN also offers FAQs, European languages, and 24/7 live chat support. So, getting started is easy even for VPN newbies.
Subscriptions are fairly priced, and you can get PIA’s long-term plan for just $2.03/month. I suggest going for the 2-year option to save money.
In addition, I tested PIA’s 30-day guarantee and the process was quick and uncomplicated. My credit card was refunded 5 days after sending a request via the website’s web form.
4. IPVanish — Protect All Your Devices in Europe and Beyond with Unlimited Simultaneous Connections

Try IPVanish VPN >
www.IPVanishVPN.com
- Server speed and location: Fast connections on 2,200 servers in 75 countries, including over 33 European countries
- Security and privacy: OpenVPN Scramble and privately-owned network
- Simultaneous device connections: Unlimited
- Can stream local and global content: Netflix, Disney+, BBC iPlayer, Peacock, BT Sport, ESPN, and HBO Max

IPVanish September 2023 Deal: It’s hard to find active IPVanish offers so I was really surprised to find this one! Click here to get 77% off your IPVanish subscription today! Discount automatically applied (no code required).
This VPN lets you access global content, too, with 2,200 servers around the world. The OpenVPN Scramble option (obfuscation) helped me bypass VPN blocks and watch popular international platforms during my trip throughout Europe. For example, I could view Ozark on Netflix (US), as well as shows on BBC iPlayer, ZDF, and La 1.
Additionally, with speeds reaching over 58 Mbps, IPVanish ensures seamless streaming, online gaming, and video conversations. All servers support P2P connections and impose no bandwidth restrictions, establishing IPVanish as an excellent option for torrenting.
Although the VPN is based in the US (part of the 5 Eyes Alliance), the strict zero-logs policy keeps your privacy intact. The provider also owns and maintains its network, so third parties can’t easily access your data. I didn’t detect any IP or DNS leaks during testing, either. My traffic was also protected with top-grade encryption (AES 256-bit), multiple tunneling protocols, and a kill switch.
The yearly plan is more affordable than the monthly subscription. All subscriptions offer the same features (including 24/7 support and European languages), so I recommend going for IPVanish’s long-term plan at $2.49/month.
A 30-day money-back policy means you can try IPVanish for free. I just had to select “I wish to cancel my subscription” on the website’s dashboard. In 5 days, my payment was back on my credit card.
5. PrivateVPN — User-Friendly Interface for Easy Access to European and Global Content
Available on:
Windows Mac Android iOS
Router Smart TV More
Try PrivateVPN >
www.privatevpn.com
- Server speed and location: Reliable speeds. 200 servers in 63 countries (including Europe)
- Security and privacy: An automatic kill switch and Stealth mode
- Simultaneous device connections: 10
- Can stream local and global content: Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+, BBC iPlayer, Peacock, BT Sport, ESPN, and HBO Max
- Compatible with: Windows, Android, iOS, Mac, Linux, routers, and more
PrivateVPN presents user-friendly applications accessible in various languages, such as Swedish, ensuring swift familiarity. The VPN delivers two operational modes for your preference: a straightforward mode for instant use and an advanced mode that empowers complete customization of settings. I personally opted for the simple mode when I started using the VPN. Furthermore, PrivateVPN extends a remote setup service for desktop applications and features responsive online chat support, accessible round-the-clock for 22 hours a day.
My IP address and online activities remained hidden at all times too. PrivateVPN offers industry-leading security features, like AES-256, a kill switch, and DNS/IPv6/WebRTC leak protection. You can also disguise your VPN traffic using the Stealth VPN mode (obfuscation feature). Moreover, the VPN ensures your privacy with a reliable no-logs policy. As a bonus, you can pay with Bitcoin for added privacy.
The network is relatively small in comparison to other services. That said, there are plenty of servers across Europe to let you access popular services like ORF, TF1, and Telecinco. I also streamed Mrs. America on my Hulu (US) account from France without issues.
I was pleasantly surprised by the pricing for the 3-year plan. You can get a long-term PrivateVPN subscription for as low as $2/month.
Plus, PrivateVPN provides you with a tried-and-tested 30-day money-back guarantee. I tested the policy by requesting a refund on the website. The process was easy and I could withdraw the money from my bank account within a week.
Quick Guide: How to Set Up a VPN for Europe in 3 Easy Steps
- Download a VPN. I recommend ExpressVPN as its robust security measures keep you safe throughout Europe and beyond. Besides, you can try ExpressVPN risk-free (it has a 30-day money-back policy).
- Connect to a server. Choose a server located in a country that offers the service you’d like to access. For example, connect to a server in Europe to watch UEFA games while abroad.
- Start browsing. You’re ready to securely access content from all over the world, including Europe.
Tips on How to Choose the Best VPN for Europe
All services had to meet my strict criteria to be included on my list of the best VPNs for Europe. Each of them guard your privacy in Europe (and worldwide), and bypass global geoblocks. If you want to do your own research, make sure the VPN you pick for Europe has the following:
- Global network (including Europe) — A service with a global network of servers allows you to effectively bypass any geo-restrictions. Plus, servers spread throughout Europe let you access local content while overseas.
- High-grade security and privacy features — VPNs with top-level encryption (AES 256-bit), a strict no-logs policy, and a kill switch safeguard your data online.
- Fast connection speeds — Look for ultra-fast speeds and unlimited bandwidth for UHD streaming and unrestricted torrenting.
- Easy to use — Choose a VPN with an intuitive interface, and a variety of European languages (e.g., English, French, German, Spanish). Responsive customer support via live chat can quickly solve any issues.
- Multiple device compatibility — Your VPN should support numerous operating systems, and provide multiple simultaneous device connections from a single account.
- Reliable money-back guarantee — This helps you test it and get your money back if it doesn’t meet your standards.
FAQs on Using a VPN for Europe
How can I watch Netflix US while visiting Europe?
Choose a VPN with servers in the US. Next, connect to one of the US servers to get a US IP address. Afterward, you can log into your existing Netflix US account and stream your usual shows.
Why do I need a VPN for Europe?
You need a VPN for Europe to protect your privacy. Many European governments are part of the 5/9/14 Eyes Alliance. Thankfully, reliable providers with robust encryption (like the VPNs on this list) can safeguard your personal information on the web. That means you can safely access your bank accounts or use public WiFi in Europe without worrying about hackers.
Using a VPN also helps you access your favorite content from anywhere. The best services have global networks that can help you get around geoblocks. So, you get to enjoy European TV and international streaming platforms (like Netflix US, BBC iPlayer, and HBO Max) from anywhere.
Is it legal to use a VPN for European countries?
Yes, using a VPN is legal in most European countries. Many people rely on VPNs with high-grade encryption and no-logs policies to protect their data from hackers and snoops. Plus, services with global networks can help you access European and worldwide content.
However, some countries (like China, Russia, and Belarus) ban or restrict VPN use. So, you should check your local laws before using a VPN.
Can I watch my favorite European sports channels abroad on my TV?
Yes, a VPN with servers in Europe can let you watch local content (including UEFA games) abroad. Plus, a reliable VPN that supports smart TVs lets you watch European and international sports events on the big screen. You can even configure VPNs on your router, so you can bypass geoblocks on any connected smart device.
Can I use a free VPN in Europe?
I strongly suggest avoiding free VPNs for Europe as they may not be safe. It’s much better to use premium VPNs with money-back guarantees to safely access geoblocked content at top speeds. Most free services lack robust encryption and no-logs policies, leaving you vulnerable to hackers and monitoring. They also tend to have small networks and subpar speeds, meaning you can’t stream UHD content from popular platforms.
The Bottom Line
You need a VPN for secure and unrestricted internet access in Europe (and worldwide). A reliable service with top-tier security features and a no-logs policy can ensure your online safety. Additionally, VPNs with fast global networks let you access European and international services, apps, and content from anywhere.
I recommend ExpressVPN; it’s the fastest and most secure VPN I tested and it has servers all over the world (including Europe). What’s more, you can try ExpressVPN risk-free and claim a refund if it doesn’t suit you (it’s backed by a 30-day money-back guarantee).
Top 9 REALLY Free VPNs for Europe in 2023
You want to access censored and geo-restricted content in Europe, but you don’t want to pay a fortune for a premium VPN. I understand, and that’s why I put together a list of the top free VPNs for Europe.
No “free VPN” is ever really 100% free. Most limit your bandwidth and data. Some have even been caught downloading malware to users’ devices and recording their browsing activity.
That’s why I strongly recommend a premium option like ExpressVPN. You can unblock most popular streaming services from Europe, including Netflix US. ExpressVPN offers the possibility to test it out for yourself risk-free. If you don’t feel it’s right for you, you can get a full refund within the 30-day money-back guarantee period.
Most free VPNs threaten your security, but there are a few that are safe to use. I tested 33+ free VPNs to find you the best services for Europe.
Best Free VPNs for Europe – Quick Guide
- ExpressVPN – Fastest VPN we’ve tested with unlimited data — you can try it risk-free for 30 days.
- CyberGhost — Streaming-optimized servers that can be tested for 45 days without risk.
- TunnelBear — 256-bit encryption and server obfuscation to keep your connection secure at no cost.
- PrivateVPN — Strong IP leak protection and an advanced kill switch you can test for 30 days.
- OperaVPN — Unlimited data for free, but it’s only available as part of the Opera browser.
What’s the Catch With for Free VPNs
Free VPNs can cost you more than a premium VPN subscription.
The vendors on my list are safe to use, but most free VPNs don’t provide the same security features. Read on to learn about the risks of using a free VPN.
Security
It’s expensive to develop, build, and maintain a secure VPN, so free services usually cut corners on security features. Many free VPNs pay for operation costs by selling your data to third parties for advertising purposes.
Some free VPNs have been caught downloading malicious software to users’ devices to gather information about browsing habits.
Privacy policies are hit and miss with free services. Trustworthy free VPNs like the ones on this list offer detailed information about the types of data they collect. Others I found twist the words in their privacy policies to trick you into unknowingly handing over your personal information.
If you value your privacy, a premium vendor is the best option. Only well-established, secure VPNs give you the anonymity and security you need.
Limitations
Free VPNs operate fewer servers, and most don’t have servers in Europe at all. Connecting to a server outside your country will slow your connection down and block your access to some local content.
Most free servers limit your bandwidth, speed, and data, too.
Premium VPNs operate global server networks, and most have multiple European servers. They don’t limit your speed or data, either.
Compatibility
Most free VPNs only offer apps for laptops and desktops. For example, there are plenty of free VPNs for Windows but there aren’t many that are compatible with phones, tablets, or routers. They often limit you to one active connection per account, too. So, if you have multiple devices, you may need to download several different free VPNs to protect them all.
Premium services like ExpressVPN offer apps for all popular operating systems, including routers and smart TVs. They also allow multiple simultaneous connections so that you can protect all of your devices with one account.

Military-grade encryption, a no-logs policy, and DNS leak protection keep your browsing habits private and data safe. ExpressVPN also uses industry-standard OpenVPN and IKEv2/IPSec protocols.
ExpressVPN operates 3,000 in 94 countries, including 60 server locations in Europe.
Because ExpressVPN refreshes its IP addresses regularly, it can bypass geoblocks to access most streaming services.
The MediaStreamer feature allows you to connect any WiFi-enabled device to a VPN, even devices not typically supported by VPNs. I set up the MediaStreamer on my router and connected to a US server to give it a test on my SmartTV. It only took me 3 minutes to unlock Netflix.
There are specialty P2P servers. You can configure ExpressVPN to work with Onion over VPN for Tor in the app.
ExpressVPN is based in the British Virgin Islands, which is well outside of the 14-Eyes’ range. Not that it matters, though, because ExpressVPN means business when it says it doesn’t keep any logs.
You can secure up to 8 of your devices at once with just one ExpressVPN account. This is a budget-friendly option if you have a large family or a collection of different devices in your home. There is even an app for smart TVs.

CyberGhost is not normally free, but it offers a 24-hour free trial so you can try and see if you like it.

With 9,300+ servers around the world, you’ll be able to access your favorite websites and streaming platforms, even if they’re normally geoblocked.
Its NoSpy servers assure that you’re completely anonymous at all times. Every time you disconnect, your footprint is erased — not even the VPN knows you were ever connected to its servers.
CyberGhost allows P2P transfers on all its servers, meaning that you’ll be completely safe, even when you’re connected to torrenting clients.
It’s located in Romania, which is outside of any intelligence alliance. On top of that, it has a strong no-logs policy, which assures you that none of your personal data is stored.
You can connect up to 7 devices to its servers. Besides, it’s compatible with the most popular operating systems, so you can keep all your devices protected with only one subscription.

- 500MB of free data per month

- Unlimited bandwidth
- P2P support
- Separate, free adblocker extension available
- Works with: HBO GO, Kodi, and YouTube
- Compatible with: Windows, macOS, Linux, ChromeOS, iOS, Blackberry, Raspberry PI, Android, Chrome, Opera, Firefox, Roku, Nvidia Shield, and Kodi
TunnelBear provides you with 500MB of free data per month. That’s enough to stream for 30 minutes and catch up with friends regularly on social media, but you can’t watch movies or torrent large files.
TunnelBear uses 256-bit military-grade encryption. It keeps a strict no-logs policy and conducts an annual independent audit to identify possible weaknesses so that you have the protection you can trust.
You can choose from three security modes in the well-designed app. Its GhostBear mode makes VPN traffic look like regular traffic so that you can bypass deep packet inspection (DPI) undetected. That means you can use TunnelBear to bypass censorship in restrictive areas like Russia and China.
Vigilant Mode is TunnelBear’s version of a kill switch. It stops unprotected data leaving your network if your VPN connection drops. The Always On mode connects you to the VPN the instant you start your device, so you’re never without protection. It also offers a separate ad blocker free called TunnelBear Blocker.
TunnelBear doesn’t limit your speed, so your connection is always lightning-fast.
It unblocks a few streaming services, including HBO GO and YouTube, but not Netflix or Hulu.
Having trouble finding information? No worries. TunnelBear has a useful and adorable FAQ section. When you enter your question, the bear above the search box types right along with you. Sure, I gave it points for cute animation, but it was the thorough answers that impressed me.
4. PrivateVPN

- 7-day free trial
- Bypasses geoblocks and censorship
- AES 2048-bit encryption
- Unlimited bandwidth and speed
- Works with: Netflix US, BBC iPlayer, YouTube, HBO GO, and Kodi
- Compatible with: Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, Android, BlackBerry, Windows 10 Phone, Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Playstation, Xbox, Routers, Samsung TV, Apple TV, Android Smart TV, Roku, Google Chromecast, Amazon Fire TV, and Smart TVs
PrivateVPN’s 7-day free trial gives you a full security suite with unlimited speed and bandwidth. You have access to 200 servers in 63 countries, which is great if you frequently travel because there is always a server nearby.
PrivateVPN uses 256-bit encryption and several secure protocols, including OpenVPN, L2TP, IKEv2/IPSec, and PPTP, to prevent data breaches and unauthorized device access. There’s also IPv6 leak protection to protect you from software security flaws that could leak your IP and location.
The Connection Guard feature acts as an enhanced kill switch that you can customize to stop specific programs and apps if your VPN connection drops. It is a great failsafe for torrenting, online banking, and messaging apps. Unfortunately, it can’t bypass the Great Wall of China.
You can use PrivateVPN to unblock Netflix, YouTube, and BBC iPlayer. Because you can connect up to 10 devices at the same time, you can protect your entire household with just one account. It supports P2P connections, too.
I experienced fast connections with PrivateVPN, even when I connected to servers in other countries. Its Burst feature offers speeds of up to 139.62 Mbps. For context, you only need 25 Mbps to stream Netflix in Ultra HD. PrivateVPN is fast.
If you have any technical issues, you can speak directly to PrivateVPN’s developers through the customer service portal. Or, you can find troubleshooting manuals and a detailed FAQ section on the website. Its Getting Started page gives you easy-to-follow instructions for installing and using PrivateVPN on your device.
PrivateVPN is headquartered in Sweden, which is part of the 14-Eyes Alliance. You don’t need to worry, though, because PrivateVPN’s strict no-logs policy means that it has no information to surrender even if an allied country subpoenas it.
5. OperaVPN

www.operasoftware.com
- Unlimited data and bandwidth
- Available in Opera, OperaGX, Opera Mini
- Network analysis tool
- Ad blocker
- Public wi-fi protection
- Works with: YouTube and Kodi
- Compatible with: Windows, Linux, macOS, and Android
Opera VPN gives you unlimited data and bandwidth, but it’s only available as an Opera browser extension. It doesn’t protect any of the data you send from apps outside of your browser.
It operates servers in Asia, North and South America, and Europe. This limited selection makes it nearly impossible to use Opera VPN to bypass geoblocks because you can’t connect to a server in a specific location. It can’t unblock Netflix, Hulu, or BBC iPlayer.
It uses 256-bit encryption and offers public WiFi protection. Opera VPN uses the HTTPS proxy method instead of OpenVPN. It can’t mask itself as regular traffic, so it’s more likely to be detected and blocked by DPI. You can’t use it to bypass censorship in China.
It doesn’t log your browsing activity or original network address, so your location and activity can’t be traced. Still, it records anonymous use statistics, crash reports, and some device information like your operating system and platform.
When I read its privacy policy, I noticed that Opera VPN is very open and honest about the data it collects. Its privacy policy is straightforward and easy to understand.
The browser itself has an Automatic Update feature that checks for and installs updates as soon as they’re released. This way, you always have the latest security patches and features.
Opera VPN is compatible with Opera’s ad and tracker blocker, which you can customize to allow pop-ups from specific sites. This is useful for online gaming and some free streaming sites that won’t let you watch without ads.
It doesn’t offer any customer support, but there are user forums that can answer basic questions.

VPNBook offers unlimited bandwidth and data. Its European servers are primarily located in Romania and are protected by its privacy-friendly laws. VPNBook has fast connection speeds and a multilingual interface. You can choose from French, Spanish, English, Russian, Chinese, and more.
Your data is encrypted using AES 256-bit encryption. You can also opt for 128-bit encryption. Both methods are powerful enough to keep your data safe from thieves and hackers. Its Cloud-based IP content delivery network (CDN) routes your traffic through the fastest server, which increases its overall performance.
VPNBook doesn’t have apps, so you need to configure it manually using OpenVPN or a PPTP client.
PPTP is compatible with most operating systems, but VPNBook recommends using the open-source OpenVPN client because it’s harder for websites and surveillance agencies to detect and block. There are installation guides for both PPTP and OpenVPN with step-by-step instructions.
VPNBook operates servers in the US, Canada, Germany, Romania, and the UK. It doesn’t block any ports, and you can use it to bypass geoblocks and censorship. Its Romanian servers allow P2P activity.
I was able to unblock Netflix, Hulu, YouTube, and social media sites during my test.
When using VPNBook, your connection speed is not restricted, even when running data-intensive applications. The VPN service consistently delivers rapid upload and download speeds across all available servers.
